On April 17, Jay Winter, Professor of War History at Yale University, and Kolleen Guy, Associate Professor of History at Duke Kunshan University, visited the Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum during their academic visit to Duke Kunshan. They engaged in a productive exchange with Museum Director Chen Jian, accompanied by Yujie Zhu, Associate Professor from the Centre for Heritage and Museum Studies at the Australian National University.
Professor Winter expressed admiration for the museum’s extensive collection of historical artifacts and its research achievements over the years. He recommended that the museum strengthen ties with major global institutions, using the history of Jewish refugees in Shanghai as a foundation to foster interdisciplinary academic collaboration and multifaceted, in-depth cultural exchanges.
