UNHCR China Representative visited the Museum

On July 26, Ms. Sophie Muller, the newly appointed UNHCR Representative in China, visited the Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum for the first time.

During her tour, Ms. Muller expressed deep interest in the exhibition content and remarked that she had gained a new understanding of Shanghai's history of providing refuge to Jewish refugees during World War II. She noted that the establishment of UNHCR was a direct response to the massive refugee crisis caused by World War II. Created to fill the gap in international assistance, it remains the global authority on refugee protection today. To this day, wars and conflicts persist, and its mission continues.
