Director Chen Jian Meets with Vice-President Zou Xiaoli of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA)

On April 28th, Mr. Chen Jian, Director of the Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum, met with Amb. Zou Xiaoli, Vice-President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA). Director Chen gave a brief introduction of the development of the Museum in recent years, and expressed his hope to better tell the story of the Chinese people and Jewish refugees sharing weal and woe during World War II, and to promote people-to-people exchanges between China and other countries. Amb. Zou pointed out that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people’s war of resistance against Japanese aggression and the world anti-fascist war, emphasizing that we should remember history, cherish peace, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. Amb. Zou said that the Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum is an invaluable public diplomatic resource, and the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs stands ready to strengthen coordination with the Museum in this regard.
