Nobel Prize laureate David Gross visited the Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum last week. Gross was surprised to see the small museum enriched with countless historical materials that tell the history of Jewish refugees in Shanghai. “It is impressive”, said Gross at the end of the visit. David Gross is an American theoretical physicist and a faculty member at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is also a foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2004 Gross was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for discoveries regarding asymptotic freedom.

Oliver Hart, another Nobel Prize winner also paid a visit to the museum last month. Hart is a renowned economistand a professor of economics at Harvard University. In 2016, Hart was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics for his contributions to contract theory.
